Stump Grinding & Stump Removal

Stump Grinding Service, Stump Removal and Clearing Services from Orchard Street Tree Surgeons in Glasgow, Scotland

Removal of Tree Stumps

Once a tree, or a large shrub, has been cut down, there is always a small portion of the trunk left behind called the stump.  If left alone, a stump will not cause any harm, but if you would like to replant, lay lawn, or even build where the tree used to be, you need to have the stump removed.

At Orchard Street Tree Surgeons, we can offer an efficient stump removal service known as stump grinding.   Our state-of-the-art arboreal equipment enables us to grind down a tree stump to approximately 200mm (over 7.5 inches) below the ground level, allowing you to build, plant, or lay turf over the area once more.

Stump Grinding Service Scotland

Removing stumps can make a huge difference to an area, removing the unsightly and now useless stumps, and giving you the space back once more.  The stump grinding process breaks down the stump and severs the attached roots so that they break down back into the soil over time.

For safety, we recycle the wood grindings back into the hole where the stump was, filling it up to the ground level in order to prevent leaving a dangerous hole in your garden!  Once we have carried out our stump removal service, our clients have been able to replant, turf, and even concrete over the area once more.

If you are not sure whether the Orchard Street Tree Surgeon stump grinding service will suit your garden, we can offer a free quote on stump removal throughout Scotland.  Please contact us for further details

What is a Stump Grinder?

At Orchard Street Tree Surgeons, we have several stump grinders which are used to remove the remnants of tree stumps in an efficient, environmentally responsible and affordable way.

We operate two different types of stump grinders; each machine designed specifically to suit the stumps and area to be worked on. Our tree stump grinders operate on tracks, letting us move them up and down slopes in order to access and grind out tree stumps wherever they are!  Since our stump grinder is just 32cm in width, it will fit through the average garden gate, however, since stump grinders weigh approximately 1 tonne, there are some beds and raised areas that they will not reach and we can offer alternative services for these areas.

For safety – stump grindings are placed back into the stump hole. This prevents a dangerous hole being left in your garden or onsite.
